The Super Adventure Box comes back to Guild Wars 2 next week

04 Super Adventure Box

The summer holidays are nearing end, Guild Wars 2 players, prepare to go back to school to take part in one of the most enjoyable side areas in the entire game, the Super Adventure Box, where players get to explore an 8-bit world crafted by the Asuran genius Moto, filled with fun, adventure, and references to classic video games.

The rumors are true: Super Adventure Box is coming back to Guild Wars 2 for a 2013 encore event! The next content update for the game won’t merely trot out the old April Fools Day content for another go, but will also add several new levels and challenges.

When players return to the retro-themed game-within-a-game, they’ll have the chance to push onward into World 2 with several new levels and a terrifying end boss: the Storm Wizard. ArenaNet is also adding a new Tribulation Mode for those who like a challenge, more super weapon skins, boss weapons, and the chance to craft a Princess Miya mini.

The forthcoming update isn’t just about the Super Adventure Box; players will be able to craft ascended weapons and push up to 500 skill points in weaponsmith, artificer, and huntsman crafting. Legendary weapons will be buffed and magic find will be stripped away from all gear in favor of adding it as an account-wide bonus.

Players can get an early look at the update by joining a livestream with ArenaNet developers on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at noon (PDT) on the Guild Wars 2 Twitch channel.

Top ten websites GW2 players worth Collecting

So what should you do if you want to know the latest news about Guild Wars 2?It’s surprising how many people who play Guild Wars 2 know so little about some of the best websites for a game they play countless hours of. In this list, we provide you with ten of the best –There are of course more than this, the fact is we only give you an indicator as to what websites worth GW2 players collecting.

Kill Ten Rats

Technically KTR (as it’s more commonly known) covers much more than Guild Wars 2. Ravious however is a long time, staunch supporter of the game. Not only this, but he’s a brilliant writer and his editorials are always topical and food for thought.

A busy, bustling community that is first for Guild Wars 2 news while also being great for discussions. If that wasn’t good enough, they’re actually a friendly bunch who are quick to help and support one another. Should you ever need anything answering about the game, or if you simply want to waste several hours reading through excellent topics, look no further.

An accurate and well presented event timer. With the ability to choose your server and overlay the graphics onto the game, it’s a great support tool for farming events when you’ve achievements to complete or money to earn.

Passionately run by Tilion in and out of game, it is a homage to the game at a truly fan level. With some excellent editorials, a busy forum and a ludicrously active twitter it’s well worth visiting regularly.

With a beautiful website, an excellent focus on lore and passionately run by Ollannach, GuildMag is regularly worth visiting. What makes GuildMag stand out however, is their e-magazine that anyone can freely download. It’s well worth reading.

Visually stunning, niche and lovingly written, Orrator.com is a breath of fresh air against the miriad of sites out in cyber space. Simple and elegant in it’s delivery of content.

I’m not sure Dulfy is a ‘lone ranger’ in the creation of all her content spanning multiple games, but it cannot be disputed that the guides produced are timely, accurate and most importantly, benefiting the communities they are aimed at. With an easily navigated website and optimal wording/image use, it’s a great support network for anyone who doesn’t want to spend time getting to grips with content.

As the mandatory place to go when looking for a group (until ArenaNet implement their own), GW2lfg is ideal if you love to run dungeons or fractals.

Although I prefer GoldWars2 (unfortunately it requires a subscription to use) as an accurate tracker of all things Trading Post, you really can’t got wrong with spidy. Updated often, while remaining a corner stone of many wheeler and dealers, it really is a must for anyone wanting to flip their way to a profit.

Where would many of us be without the Guild Wars 2 Wikipedia? Updated instantly by the community and a treasure trove of lore, statistics and information, I’ve lost count of the hours I’ve spent researching skills and traits.

Guild Wars 2 Living World team hope players have a better gaming experience so Coming up this Tuesday, on June 18 the Dragon Bash festivities continue with the Effigy Lighting Ceremony; a new single-player instance appropriately named Memories on the Pyre.

The major cultures across Tyria have sent their ambassadors to Lion’s Arch, to represent each race at a ceremony where they symbolically destroy the dragons by lighting effigies on fire. It’s an honor for the representatives, many of whom have had suffered personal loss because of the dragons’ wrath.

The chosen gift-bearer from the Hylek tribes is Ceaoloti. Magnus the Bloody-handed will be around to crack jokes, and Captains “Bonny” Anne Reid, Tokk, and Theo Ashford will pump up the crowd for the ceremonial lighting.

Guild Wars 2 through share APIs and Price Drops give players hope for the future

Guild Wars 2 has been given a permanent price drop, NCsoft has announced. The standard edition will now run you £34.99/$49.99 and the deluxe version £49.99/$69.99. The new price point, which is $10 off the launch price, is effective starting today. The new price coincides with the conclusion of the Southsun Cove event next week, called Last Stand at Southsun.  In a follow-up chat about some of the decisions behind that move, Game Director Colin Johanson talked a bit about community support, the game’s regular update cadence, and the company’s hopes for bringing Guild Wars 2 into new markets.

While a $10 price drop is not an extreme move, Johanson is confident that the change will bring Guild Wars 2 to new people. The company seems to be currently focused on building up community support.

Just yesterday, some APIs were made available to the public for the first time. Cliff Spradlin has posted documentation on the API for those looking to create new tools and/or sites. Currently available are calls to fetch Dynamic Event information, WvW statuses, and item and recipe details. Official expressed this thread documents the currently available APIs for use. These APIs are in beta, so don’t be surprised if the interfaces change, but they will try to warn you if they have to make any breaking changes.

The game appears to be moving towards a twice-monthly update schedule. Johanson said that while ArenaNet has “not ruled out” the idea of future expansions, the company is committed to the idea of the living story. Johanson mentioned that Guild Wars 2 is sitting solidly at “well over 3,000,000 copies sold” without tapping into the Chinese market. He added that the game just had its first closed beta test in China and that the team is optimistic. ArenaNet hopes to make the Chinese version of the game as similar as possible to the existing one.For more information you can visit the official site.

In Depth Guide On How The GW2 Market Works

In Guild Wars 2, the market works very differently from other game as I know. This is because, when selling in Guild Wars, you would be told the buying price for the highest bidder. This allows you to earn the most money nearly instantly. Unfortunately, due to the fact that nobody would be selling the same item for a lower than the highest price, flipping items is no longer possible. We need delve into the Gem market, which is similar in most ways but does have a couple differences. Understanding how all of this works will allow you to make better decisions when both buying and selling items. So the method which I would recommend is following.

High Population Affects Sales Times

This one is probably the most obvious, yet the most misunderstood. There are an unknown number of players in the game at any given time (as the market is cross-world), and a lot of people do their shopping at the same times (since it can be done anywhere). This means at some points your items will sell instantly and others they won’t. This, in turn, pushes the volatility of Guild Wars 2’s market even higher, as the prices can drop or raise pretty much instantly. Along with this, it decreases the chances of one person (or a small group of people) being able to completely dominate one of the sectors. It’s still possible with enough gold, but the risk is high considering how quick the market moves.

The Hot Items Gear

Most things in Guild Wars 2 have their place on the market, although some are wanted much more than others. When it comes to gear itself, there are different tiers.

Materials are a whole different animal. Every material has at least some value. Some materials, however, are found in such abundance that you really can’t make anything off them, while others are so rare that they are worth a lot.

The Spread

Often times, you will find an item that has both buy orders and sell orders that are spread out. The risk is that the market can sway up or down at any point. If you’re planning to use this method, it’s best to go with common materials and such, as there’s always a market for them.

Gem Exchange

Now that we’ve covered the rest of the things, it’s time to move on to the gem exchange. When you’re looking at it, you will see a chart that shows about a week of prices. It always starts in the Gold → Gem setting, so if you want to go the opposite way you’ll need to click on the “Trade Gold for Gems” button.

There’s a lot of gold that can be earned on the Black Lion Trading Company, but it’s a very risky situation .Be careful with your speculation and avoid risky investments, especially if you can’t afford to lose.If you are looking for a full guide on all professions and a complete leveling guide for GW2 then check out
